Bugs Month over Month - % of previous period

Track the number of bugs created month-over-month, ensuring that newly raised bugs do not exceed 95% of the bugs reported in the previous period. This KPI helps maintain a manageable bug load, encouraging proactive issue resolution and quality improvements.

Step 1: Add two Data Sources filtering Issue type Bugs during the two time periods you wish to analyze.

Step 2: For the default metric ‘Number of issues,’ specify the Data Source that it will be extracted from - B (the one you want to set a target for).

Step 3: For Display by, select Created by Day Index.

Step 4: Turn on the Target feature and opt for % Change target type.

Step 5: Input Target percent value.

Step 6: Specify that the target must be calculated based on the data from the previous time period (data source A).

Step 7: Specify that Exceeding is Bad.

Step 8: Activate the Warning Threshold and input percent value.
