Runs on Atlassian and Data Residency
The Cloud version of the Performance Objectives app has migrated from Connect to the Atlassian Forge platform and meets Atlassian’s requirements for the “Runs on Atlassian” badge.
What “Runs on Atlassian” Mean
While all Runs on Atlassian apps are built on Forge, an app only receives this badge if it meets strict data control requirements. These requirements are automatically checked and continuously monitored by Atlassian and include:
The app is hosted on Atlassian infrastructure.
Data is contained within the Atlassian infrastructure, unless an exception is made by the customer.
The app provides data residency in the same region as the host Atlassian product (e.g., Jira).
Customers are in control of data egress (such as analytics and logs) and can block it at any time.
App Data Residency
As a Runs on Atlassian app, the Performance Objectives app aligns its data residency location with your host Atlassian product (Jira).
For the app to follow your data residency settings, you must:
have installed Performance Objectives Cloud app version 4.14.0 or later, and
ensure that the host Atlassian product is set to your desired data residency location.
Verifying Data Residency Location
When the app’s data is successfully stored in the same region as your Jira instance, it will be displayed as PINNED in the admin's Data residency interface.
Organization Admins can verify that the app's data is co-located with their Atlassian product instance by following these steps:
Navigate to Atlassian Administration > Data management > Data residency.
Locate the host product (Jira or Jira Service Management) in the list.
Check whether it is pinned to a selected location.
If not, set a location for your Atlassian product.
If yes, click the More actions (...) menu on the right and select View app details.
Select the Pinned tab.
Confirm that Performance Objectives is listed in this tab, indicating that it is pinned to the same location as the host product.
Data residency selection is available for Atlassian Cloud Enterprise, Premium, and Standard plans. It is not available for Free Atlassian Cloud plans.
