Custom 'Working hours per day' for Time Metrics
The Performance Objectives app now allows you to define the number of hours in your working day when displaying time-based metrics in days.
Previously, the app converted hours to days, using the standard 24 hours = 1 day conversion. For users who prefer to view time data in working days on metrics such as ‘Remaining estimate’ or ‘Original estimate’, this standard conversion did not match their reporting expectations.
With this new option, you can specify the number of working hours per day, allowing time values to be converted to days according to your team’s working day.
Example: If your team works 8 hours per day and the metric value is 13 hours:
Previously: the value would appear as 0d, 13h (based on 24h = 1 day).
Now: if you set 8 working hours per day, the same value appears as 1d, 5h.
Supported Metrics
This functionality is available for the following time metrics:
Time Spent, Σ Time Spent
Remaining Estimate, Σ Remaining Estimate
Original Estimate, Σ Original Estimate
Work log time
Select the value that represents one working day for your reporting context (for example, 7h, 8h, or 12h).
If you do not select a value during this step, the default value of 24h will be applied.
This option is not available for Dynamic metrics that already support custom work calendars. Work calendars provide a more accurate way to calculate time based on predefined working schedules (exact working hours, weekends, holidays, time zone).
