Display by Issue Key or Issue Summary

While our gadgets are primarily designed for data aggregation, you can use the ‘Issue Key’ or ‘Issue Summary’ field in your Display settings to view individual tasks. To maintain visual clarity, the app processes all issues in your data source and displays a selection of the first 300 issues based on your metric and sort order.

Make sure to use the Chart Pagination option when using these fields in your charts to keep them clear and informative.

Custom Sorting for Displaying First 300 Records

When reporting on one of these fields, you can choose the sorting criteria that determines which first 300 issues are displayed on the chart.

This feature is particularly useful for configuring 'Top X' reports (e.g., Top 10, 20, etc.), where issues (the first up to 300 from the Data source) are displayed based on the sorting criteria set in your configuration.

 

Example:

Highest 'Time spent' issues:

Time spent - highest value.png

Sort by Value ➝ Descending. The chart displays the first 300 issues with the longest 'Time spent' value.

Lowest 'Time spent' issues:

Time spent - lowest value.png

Sort by Value ➝ Ascending. The chart displays the first 300 issues with the shortest 'Time spent' value.

Because scatterplots are designed to reveal patterns across datasets using individual data points, the Scatter & Bubble Charts gadget does not have the 300-item limitation. It displays all items from the data source (up to the overall issue limit).

Additionally, you don’t need to include the ‘Issue Key’ or ‘Issue Summary’ in the display settings of these charts, as these are shown by default when you hover over the data point or in the table view.
