Create Activity Reports
To create a new report, navigate to the left menu and select Create Report under the Manage section. Alternatively, you can click the + create Report button located in the top-right corner of the All Reports page.
The Create report modal will open with the following settings:
Report name: If left blank, the app assigns the current date. You can rename the report later.
Users: Search for and select the Jira users to include in this report.
Overview and default users view: Choose between a heatmap and a line chart.
Upon selecting Create, the report will load with pre-configured settings: all default activity types are enabled, and the date range is set to the Past 12 months.
Once generated, the report can be fully customized: you can disable some activity types, add custom activities, apply filters, adjust the date range, or modify other settings to suit your needs.
Example: Worklog Report
The example report below tracks Team Comet's work on Project Aqua over the past 60 days. It is configured to show only Worklog activities (Created, Updated, Deleted), with the results displayed as a Heatmap overview and Table details.
High-level Team Activity Overview
The report overview uses a Heatmap to visualize aggregated data from all users included in the report. Elements:
Summary Panel: The left panel displays the total activity count for the chosen filters and date range, as well as the number of users in the report.
Trendline: A visual graph to summarize how activity changes over time.
Tooltips: Hovering over any heatmap cell displays the date and the activity count for that day, broken down by activity type.
Selection Marker: A dot on the heatmap cell indicates the date currently loaded in the detailed table. If no date is manually selected, the marker defaults to today, or - when using a custom date range - to the most recent day with available data.
Activity Bars: Below the overview, activity bars display each activity type as a percentage of the report total. If your report includes multiple activity types, you can toggle them on or off to focus the view.
Reports only display data for existing Jira work items. Deleting an item removes all its historical activities from the report.
Data Breakdown and Member page
Scrolling down the report reveals individual activity charts for each team member. You can display these charts in either Heatmap or Line chart views.
Table Breakdown: If a heatmap cell is selected from the main overview, this section updates to show a detailed table breakdown for that date.
User Details: In both Heatmap and Line views, you can access a user’s Member page via the three-dot menu to review their activity in more detail.
Report Management
You can manage your report using the controls in the More settings menu:
Three-Dot Menu: Click here to access Settings, Copy, Print, Export to CSV, Add to Jira dashboard, or Delete the report.
Quick Actions: Use the separate icons next to the menu to Change date range, Share, Star, or Reload the data.
When an activity report is shared with other Jira users, each user sees only activity from spaces they have permission to access in Jira, so the total activity counts may vary between different viewers of the same report.
