Target Set as % of Average Metric Value

Percent of Average target type allows you to set a goal as a percentage of the average current metric, a percentage of any other relevant metric, or as a dynamic moving average target. Additionally, you have the flexibility to customize the moving average period by specifying the number of x-axis segments used to calculate the moving average.

% of Avg. target can be measured as:

  • Full metric data - shows percent completion against full metric data

  • Per x-axis item - shows completion against target for each x-axis item (displayed field)

  • Burn up - tracks progress from 0 to fixed target value

  • Burn down - tracks progress from fixed target value down to 0

  • Moving Average (MA) - percent of MA derived from all past or X-number last data segments

You can specify whether exceeding the target should be considered Good or Bad and undesirable, in the sense that the target value represents a maximum threshold.

Find below simple examples illustrating how the calculations for individual target types are performed.
